Holiday Shopping: Get Your XX On!

Posted: 11/28/11 11:29 AM ET

So here's the deal: There is going to be a LOT of money spent this holiday season. Much of it is going to be spent, directed or otherwise influenced by women. Women control over 80% of consumer spending, drive huge internet shopping sites like Gilt Groupe, Zappos, & Groupon, and totally control the destiny of The Muppet Movie. Aside from their financial spending clout, women also start businesses, too. See where I'm going with this? Of course you do: A slideshow! Awesome businesses founded by awesome women - with helpful links straight to awesome stuff.

To that end: here are my picks from the first-ever xx4xmas Shopping Guide, the brainchild of Honestly Now founder Tereza Nemessanyi, who has inaugurated the first-ever xx4xmas Shopping Guide - a rolling list of hundreds of products and services. Check out my picks below - and get your XX on!

Love the list by Theresa of Honestly Now! She also created another list of female-founded tech companies that have received VC or Angel funding. It's a new list so people should add any well known tech female-led companies that have funded. I love supporting my fellow female entrepreneurs.

Women control 80% of consumer spending ? Is this what you mean by "change the ratio" ?

Awesome, Printapons saves me time and money! You can see the coupons instantly and don't have to search for ones.

What excuse do these women have for this? Is Google sexist against their sites? Nothing but feminist inspired bigotry here. Choose the best sites for women, but don't do it based on the owners gender.

Why should I shop at a particular place simply because it was founded by a woman?
