Rachel Sterne is Founder and CEO of GroundReport, a global news platform that strives to democratize the media.

Today GroundReport has 1,000 active international contributors who cover the world from the ground up, breaking stories and vetting reports as a community.

Prior to founding GroundReport, Rachel worked as a Political Reporter for the State Department on the United Nations Security Council. Her experience inspired her to launch a vehicle that empowers people to share their stories and discover what's really going on in the world. After the UN Rachel was a Business Developer at P2P platform LimeWire, where she led the relaunch of several websites.

Rachel has discussed GroundReport and the future of news for CNNMoney, The New York Times, FOX News, The Aspen Institute, and major universities and media companies. She was named one of 'America's Most promising Social Entrepreneurs' by BusinessWeek in 2009, and founded the Citizen Journalism Think Tank in 2007.
