Raúl de Molina nació en Cuba y abandonó su país a la edad de 10 años. Parte de su adolescencia fue en Madrid, España hasta que llegó a Estados Unidos a los 16 años de edad. Trabajó como fotógrafo para Associated Press durante la década de los 80. Sus trabajos fueron publicados en Time, Life, Newsweek, Paris Match y otros. En los últimos 20 años ha sido presentador de televisión, primero en Telemundo y posteriormente en Univision, donde conduce junto a Lili Estefan el popular programa de entretenimiento 'El Gordo y la Flaca'. En el 2008, fue reconocido como uno de los hispanos más influyentes en Estados Unidos por la revista People en Español. En octubre del 2008, Random House publicó su libro 'La Dieta del Gordo'. Raúl de Molina sirve además como embajador de la marca Louis Vuitton en eventos caritativos para ayudar a niños y familias de bajos recursos.
