World Cup Photo Diary: My Final Days in Brazil

To add insult to injury, the biggest Brazilian rivals, Argentina, will be in final of this World Cup after defeating the Netherlands on penalty kicks. All was back to normal in Brazil and thousands of Argentinian fans left the game in Sao Paulo and arrived in Rio in the early hours of Thursday morning to prepare for the big game on Sunday. The noise in Ipanema, next to the Cesar Park hotel where Holland has been staying, was under siege by Argentinian chants until sunrise. Yesterday after my show I ran into the conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel, who was watching the Argentina game at a restaurant and is performing tonight with the Venezuelan Philharmonic.
