GET UPDATES FROM Raydene Salinas
I grew up in the backwoods of Wisconsin, but fell in love with big cities. After graduating from the Art Institute of Colorado in Denver, I moved to New York City in May 2011. I try to visit museums as often as time allows (The National Museum of the American Indian being a not-so-hidden gem I found). I recently completed my first half marathon and continue to challenge myself by running from my home in Queens to random places in Manhattan (biking will be next). I read far too much chick lit (interspersed with "real books"). And I've found exactly one person in NYC that can spell my name correctly.

Though I'm a city girl now, I have a past. And that past involved growing up in the "country" -- farm animals, bugs, weeds and lots and lots of antlers. I loved almost every second of it (excluding a seemingly infinite number of poison ivy bouts, of course) and I...

Models' lives aren't as glamourous as we all think they are -- there are blisters from walking in sky high heels, constant pressure to stay fit and beautiful, somehow attracting creepy people incessantly and the exhaustion from non-stop travel. But I've found one place that would make me think twice...

As a photographer, it was pretty hard to pick the best street style looks of 2012. This year, my camera's focus was drawn to chic caps and beanies, peek-a-boo collars, mixed prints, peplum tops, structured blazers and, of course, red lipstick. Beyond that, I...

I have an undercut that I can sweep to the side, pull back or tease into a pompadour. It attracts a lot of attention, both positive and, on occasion, negative. (I'll have an acquaintance tell me she preferred me with my long hair or a man tell me...
