Yesterday The Huffington Post published my piece, "Nuclear Waste: 'Not in My Backyard!' Then Whose?" The post was fashioned as an out of the box musing on what could be accomplished through international cooperation on the very difficult and touchy issue of storing nuclear waste. As expected, the comments responding to the post ranged from the incensed to the incredulous. Then, just about an hour ago this headline on the The New York Times website:
advising that the administration said today they would open formal negotiations with Russia....that would pave the way for Russia to become one of the world's largest repositories of spent nuclear fuel.
