Coachella announced the line-up of its 10th anniversary Indio, California music and arts festival. For the first time ever, Paul McCartney will headline the three-day event on Friday night. Coachella debuted in 1999, ushering in a new league of massive American music festivals modeled loosely off UK institutions like Glastonbury and Reading. 160,000 people are expected to attend the April 17-19th show, which is falling a weekend earlier this year.
Other acts on the bill include The Cure, TV on the Radio, Public Enemy and Amy Winehouse. Click here for more info.

Wow, I never would have expected Paul McCartney and Robert Smith to share the same stage.
Nothing against the Cure, Smith did appear on a good cover version of Dear Prudence with the Banshees, but it's a little like seeing Duran Duran opening for Frank Zappa.
Although Warren Cuccurillo did play guitar for Zappa and then go on to join Duran Duran,
... oh never mind.
What a snoozer line up. More than half of those acts toured last year (including Moz, MBV, TV on the Radio, etc etc.) which leads me to believe that Bonnaroo must have the better line-up.
I went to the first one, seemed more edgy then. Now I dunno.
The real news here is that MORRISSEY will be there!
