Rebecca Pell
I was born a male 52 years ago, and it has been quite a journey to reach this point where I now live as Rebecca. Along the way I served in the Army, got married, became a father, graduated from college, worked eleven years for the Department of Energy and eleven years at the University of Missouri. It took me 48 years to reach the point where I was able to accept who I was and decide to transition and live a life where I could finally be myself. Although I still have the love and support of my family, it has been a struggle since I transitioned, mainly because of the difficulties I’ve faced trying to find a job. I feel I have yet to experience the opportunity to grow and discover who Rebecca is and who I can become. Hopefully some day I will have that opportunity and the chance to find happiness.
