It's Election Day! What does it look like where you live?

Snap shots of the lines wrapping around your city blocks, of enthusiastic volunteers, of polling places in chaos. We want to see it all -- the good, the bad and the ugly. The voting process involves millions of Americans, but what do the voters who stand in line for hours, or the volunteers who pass out ballots all day, look like? What do they do to pass the time? We hear stories of people who arrive at polls only to hear that their registration was not processed. How do they respond? How do others around them respond?

Submit your photos to campaigntrail AT huffingtonpost.com and put "NOV. 4 PHOTO ESSAY" in the subject line. Crop your photos to 550 x 400 and provide captions. Remember to include your name and hometown, and the address of the polling locations.

You can view all our slideshows.

Let those earning over 150 thousand a year pay the costs of national health care for all Americans. It is not fair for some people to live large while others cannot afford the cost of a medical checkup. If a person earns big money they owe America for giving them that opportunity---paying higher taxes to help those with medical problems is a pay back. A separate medical tax on high earners would make sure the money goes for national health care costs. Easier living is on the horizon with the new Democratic congress. Poor people will soon be seen everywhere. A nation of poor people will be good for the economy. Poor people use every dime they have on food and shelter, and do not hoard their money. Under these bare boned conditions consumer needs would be known by food markets and every store in advance. This would be a Bonanza for big business---they could predict what their profits would be with minimal investment. Healthcare would be provided at no cost and paid for by taxes on individuals that make over 150 thousand dollars a year. Extreme poverty will be eliminated and free love will fill every bedroom. It sounds too good to be true but we will soon be blessed by great new leaders that will help us cross the river Jordan into the land of milk and honey.

I live half a block from the polling station. No line at 6:15 a.m., no line at 3 p.m.

Everyone I have talked to with the exception of my roommate voted at least a week ago by absentee ballot. One friend even threw a voting party and the guests brought their ballots and discussed the local initiatives. I voted over a meal of Panang Beef at my favorite restaurant but if I wanted to I could have voted in my underwear while drinking a marguerita jamming to the Grateful Dead.

37 of 39 counties here in Washington State vote by mail and only two counties (King and Pierce) still provide voting booths. Voting in the Northwest is very civilized, fun, and easy. The rest of the country should give our system a try.

I was on duty as a greeter outside the library, beyond the perimeter. I stood, approximately 20' further away than the perimeter required. An angry poll security worker ordered me off the County Library Grounds. He explained I was violating the election law. Further he suggested that it was inadequate for me to be merely beyond the security perimeter, I was in violation merely by being on County Property. I explained that it was our County Library, and our election.

A County Voting Department van pulled up. He conferred with the staff and explained that unless the Library complained I was OK. Later a library staffer and a republican poll watcher came out and asked if I would move across the street and off of County Library property? I explained that as long as I was beyond the security zone I was OK. They explained they would call the police.I said, "I'll wait".

Two sheriff's cars pulled up and entered the library. The officers asked if I would relocate? I did, under protest. Our Lawyer Team, the attorneys of Willy Gary's Law offices in Stuart, were ready when I called. Attorney Peter Upton, came in case cooler heads didn't prevail.

The officer, told me I needed to be across the street. After I relocated, another officer directed some republicans to park their RV on the Library Side of the street. It had a prominently displayed PARTISAN REPUBLICAN SIGN in the window

Somebody with a camera needs to photo electioneering materials too close to the polling places even in Michigan, IMHO. In Enid, Oklahoma, I found one blatant case and two borderline cases, and I didn't ask anybody's permission--I just took the pics.

There should be a Watchdog/Whistleblower Protection clause in every law prohibiting cameras and video devices in polling places.

"On February 10, 2007, Senator Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, announced he would run for President of the United States. I decided that day I would become a U.S. citizen. Having lived in the U.S. as a permanent resident since I was nine years old, I never felt the need to become a citizen¦ until that day."

I picked up my parents around 1130 am today, drove up to our polling location (noticed more political signs than cars) and went inside to vote. Just before I received my ballot, I remarked that it was 1147am. After turning in my ballot, I checked my watch to see that it was 1155am. (I had my sample ballot with me already filled out, so it was smooth sailing)

This is in Oviedo, Fl. (Seminole County, very red). A lady who works there told me she arrived at 6am to a line of about 50 people and it had been very slow ever since.

Obama/Biden '08!

Don't know if my post went threew so heres a redo. Smooth sailing at my polling place in Gwynn Oak, about an hour wait from 112 noon to one. Talked with lady in line who had ben sent from her old polling place to my site. She has lived in the neighborhood for about a month. Neither her old polling place or the new one had her registered; she even had an updated drivers license and change her voting registration there, Encouraged her to get a provisional ballot which she was given (I told her to take a picture of it). She was very determine to vote somewhere today. She had her 5 month old baby with her and hte election judges told her they weren't going to send her back out in the damp weather.

Sorry -- no pictures from the great state of Michigan, thanks to our Sec'y of State who decided that

"The use of video cameras, still cameras and other recording devices - including cell phone cameras - is banned at Michigan polling places. The ban applies to all voters, challengers, poll watchers and election workers. The only exception is for credentialed news media photographers. "

I forgot to take my camera with me - I'm still kicking myself about that - but I can report this much: My mom and I got up at 5:30 and got to our polling place by 6:15 and THERE WAS A LINE ALREADY OUT OF THE SCHOOL'S SMALL PARKING LOT AND DOWN THE SIDEWALK. The poll opened at 7, but we did not get home until 8:16. There was still a line going down the sidewalk halfway to the next corner when we left.

St Pete, Florida here. Heard on CNN last night
that St Pete/Tampa has turned Blue! woohoo.
On my way to work today I must have seen at
least 40-50 Obama/Biden signs as opposed
to 4-5 McCain signs. Wow. That's a good sign,
or should I say signs.
