We checked every city's cost of living profile at Area Vibes to give a more detailed look at how much it really costs to live in these communities.

The Movoto real estate blog ranked the 10 most affordable cities in Illinois based on the prices of food, utilities and homes, plus median incomes, unemployment rates and other miscellaneous costs. The cities are located all over the state. The same list also listed Downers Grove as the least affordable city in the state. We checked every city's cost of living profile at Area Vibes to give a more detailed look at how much it really costs to live in these communities.

For comparison, here are some marks of average living expenses, according to Area Vibes, in Downers Grove, the city Movoto says is the most expensive in Illinois.

Milk: $2.71

Eggs: $1.54

Coffee: $6.49

Electric bill: $89.20

Gasoline: $3.99
