I wanted to stop by to personally express my appreciation for the tremendous support you have shown our Democratic candidates at this critical point in the campaign. With just 32 days left to go, your generous online contributions have never been more important than now. Republican incumbents across the country know that voters want change and are throwing every Karl Rove tactic against our Democratic challengers to slow our momentum. In addition, the shadowy right-wing group Freedom's Watch is dumping cash into tight races for swift-boat tactics like false robocalls and slanderous ads. Just this week, they launched $1.6 million in new smears.
That's why we've recently launched our Red Alert program to provide urgent support to top candidates in tight races. This critical assistance is so important that Democratic Members of Congress will match all Red Alert ActBlue grassroots contributions to these candidates dollar-for-dollar.
Thanks to your support, our candidates will have the resources to fight back. Campaigns are putting your support to work right away with aggressive field operations to contact voters and hard-hitting TV ads taking the fight to Republicans who try to run away from their records.
We have a historic opportunity in these last 32 days. More Republicans have retired in the House than in any election cycle on record. With the nation demanding change, the remaining Republican incumbents are in for the fight of their political lives. Together, we have put over 50 Republican seats in play. The DCCC is already on the air in 37 districts (you can see our latest TV ads here). Your grassroots support and activism helped make this all possible.
I thank you for your partnership in our campaign for change.
