Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson represents Illinois' 11th District. After serving as the first female Illinois Senate Majority Leader in history, she was elected to Congress in 2008.

The 11th Congressional District is located in southwest suburban Chicago, and runs west nearly to Iowa and south to Central Illinois.

Halvorson serves on the Small Business, Agriculture and Veterans committees. As the only member of the Illinois delegation to serve on the House Veterans Committee, she has focused especially on veterans health care issues during her first term in Congress.
