U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette is currently serving her eighth term in Congress, where she represents Colorado’s First Congressional District. A Chief-Deputy Whip in the Democratic Caucus, she has served on the powerful Committee on Energy and Commerce throughout her time in Congress, and was Vice-Chair of the Committee from 2007 through 2010 during the Democratic Majority. She is the Co-Chair of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus and is Congress’s leading proponent of federal funding for ethical embryonic stem cell research.
