I am 18 years of age and currently a student of Languages at Ladies’ College in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Just like any average teenager I enjoy movies, shopping and just hanging out with my friends. However, I realize that in Sri Lanka there are many children who don’t have the opportunity to enjoy even the little things in life and have no one to encourage them and believe in their future. This is why I work with street and slum children, helping them realize that they can overcome their circumstances and aspire to greatness. I believe that you have to get out of your comfort zone and be the difference you want to see in the world. You can’t wait for others to make the first move because someone’s future may depend on you.
