I Got Mine... So F You Kids

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Have you noticed that the meanest, shrillest, least compassionate and most heartless people who are well off and have all the medical coverage they'll ever need are seemingly sickened beyond cure by the notion that someone who literally cannot afford health care is somehow beneath contempt and must be vilified and humiliated?

I am repelled and mystified by the deranged reaction that rich right-wingers are regurgitating over this issue. No concern over the irrefutable fact that children in this country have more of a chance of disease and death than some nations that are nowhere near as wealthy as America.

How and why can human beings capable of this despicable, inhuman behavior call themselves civilized and Christian?

These soulless, spiritually bankrupt, intellectual frauds have more allegiance to a thoroughly discredited political philosophy than to the most vulnerable among us!

How will this effect these millions of our children who may never receive proper or rudimentary medical attention in their lives? Will they be sickly, confused and resentful of their own country? Will they ever have faith in anything ever again? We must all figure out how to help them or a shame and sickness will rise up in our souls that no medical coverage can heal.

Don't you know, Richard, that you have to keep a certain number of your population in need. That way you can get them to do our dirty work, like going to unjust wars. The refusal by this Administration to assure medical care for all children matches nicely the lousy education poor kids receive. Can't have them too healthy and aware.I know of schools in poor areas that tell their teachers to "pump up the grade." If a kid is failing, he doesn't even know it. Talk about keeping people
down!

Some years ago, I came to the shocking revalation that instead of wanting to help my beloved Haiti and her poor masses have a better life by looking more like the US, our elite want the US to look more like Haiti.

Those of us who are disgusted by the behavior and cold-heartedness of Haiti's elite call them MREs - that is, Morally Repugnant Elite. And lo and behold, here we are disgusted at our very own elite. I believe MRE is a good label for them. Also I propose to use the term Republican as an epithet whenever we see boorish, selfish, arrogant behavior. Someone honks at you to get out of their way...REPUBLICAN!

Only a Dem would equate taxation with compassion.

I work in construction. I've noticed the kind of people you refer to who have no compassion whatsoever and I have often wondered from whence cometh their total indifference. I have come to the sad conclusion that they believe "little people" simply surface from the deapths when required and can therefore conveniently be reconsigned to that sub stratosphere and forgotten once their duty to privilidge is fulfilled.

My right-wing evangelical brother-in-law lost his cushy executive hatchet job last spring. Can't find a new one. Started having problems with depression and anxiety. Couldn't afford medical and psychological help without insurance. Might lose the house. Can't sell it. Perhaps he and my stepford sister will learn a little humilty and compassion. They never did listening to Bill, Rush, and Sean. Nor Brothers Dobson, Robertson, Haggart, or Osteen.

So your brother-in-law and sister are not enjoying being under the "jack boot" as much as wearing the boot and grinding people under their fake piety. As the economy collapses people of their ilk will find they have been "left behind".

Not likely. One of the most extreme right wing Republican nutcases I ever ran across was someone who had extreme (literally life-threatening) medical problems, was on public assistance for it as his condition made him housebound and thus unemployable, and he alternated droning on about his "christianity" with spewing venom at anyone anywhere who might need even the least bit of help with anything.

That mindset dies only with its carrier.

I don't sincerely think it's that bad.
Around 50% of us don't even try to vote.
As to the rest, I doubt that a lot of folks
really think a lot about it.

If a problem doesn't effect you, a member of your family or close circle of friends...it really doesn't exist per se...

Until one day one of those problems turns up at your front door...

Then you change your mind PDQ.

My former christian coalition brother-in-law, is turning democrat after seeing the "compassionate conservatism" of executive outsourcing visited upon him. Will miracles never cease?

Kram,

I will remember him in my prayers...I'm there too:(

Your brother-in-law is brave indeed.

Maybe there IS a God after all. How about that?

I'm hearing similar stories myself. Interesting times for the bad guys, as well as for the good guys.

Hmmm.

schwinnrider - I hope your brother-in-law and his family do not suffer long. I have been part of the way there - wife was able to provide health insurance, had enough savings not to lose the house, but came close - and agree that you have to live it to feel it.

Sounds like you are a real compassionate guy! Sounds like you really love your sister and her husband.

And you liberals try and portray yourselves as caring...unless you disagree with us and then you are just a bad, bad capitalist...oh and my sister.
