Roof Top Garden - Pre Season Bulb Planting

Children are the seeds that have been planted on earth to grow and learn. They are the plants. And just like plants they too need nurturing, care, love, water, air, sun and the kind of soil that will keep them healthy and developing. They are the example the adult world often forgets but evolving in the right environment, with proper guidance and the education needed, they too will flourish like any flower does, like any plant that has been well taken care of.

Undoubtedly Ps 20 provides all of that. Under the direction of Lena Barbera, the principal of that school, the young students benefit from a community and a P.T.A. that helps bring a sense of social grace to them. Weekdays or weekends, these young budding people learn the skills needed to understand what goes on under the ground and how it can be used productively. They learn to dig the earth, to make contact with the soil; they learn the value of seeds and what becomes of them. And in turn they are proud of the knowledge they acquire because in addition to knowing they also teach not only themselves but often their parents as well.

We filmed children who show a unique enthusiasm for the knowledge they acquire and they become a great source of inspiration for all the adults watching them.

We are delighted to follow the work that PS 20 is doing on behalf on their students and we will do everything we can to see that that school is able to build a Roof Top Garden so that all of these little people who are now invested in learning about food become the great teachers of tomorrow.
