White House Gatecrasher And The Palestinians

What's Your Reaction?

Guess which of President Obama's uninvited gala guests is a big wig on the board of the American Task Force on Palestine -- the Palestinian lobby? None other than the male half of the social climbing phonies who crashed the White House state dinner the other night: Tareq Salahi.
His Bio was on the ATSFP list of board members -- but in the past day or so, it's suddenly been almost impossible to find it.

I did the other day -- but to my knowledge, not one newspaper -- including the New York Times - or TV station has ever mentioned it.

Here's a website where you can find it.

Interesting, no?

What's your point, Chesnoff? Is there something nefarious about being Palestinian? What does ethnicity have to do with anything? There's a whiff of racism in the very fact that you think this is newsworthy.

There is nothing nefarious just about being a Palestinian - especially those who believe in peace. But terrorist acts by Palestinians who don't believe in peace is rather well known. Another reason to be concerned that two people with Palestinian ties - and no invitation or proper clearance - made it into the White House the other night.

Considering a very prominent Democratic politician was murdered by a Palestinian (i.e., Robert Kennedy) it would only make sense to be concerned if a Palestinian uses deceptive means to gain access to other prominent Democratic politicians.

If these two have any darker skin they would have been in custody by now.
Can anyone imagine if they do not look white what would happen to them at this point?
The question is: WHY aren't they detained and locked up by now?

They are being protected by the Republican Party which is grooming Michaele Salahi to run as the next vice president under Dick Cheney.

Do you mean if they'd looked Middle Eastern? Because a black couple, an Asian couple, a Mexican looking couple, or a Native American couple would have probably pulled it off, too. Just not a Middle Eastern looking one.

They went thru metal detectors but security screwed up.

The head of security will pay the price, likely transferred to checking luggage at some airport.

They should be charged but with what, is beyond me.

Tareq Salahi is just a fraud more like Madoff or kids living off the wealth of their parents. His father is a Palestinian-Israeli immigrant to the US during the 40's and his mother is Belgium. Neither seem to really want a relationship with him after he ran their family business into the ground.

It is easy to see why the AMTF distanced themselves from Salahi.. When you look at the mission statement, and who sits on their board of directors. The only person whose bio seemed out of place was Salahi's.

The American Task Force on Palestine advocates the formation of a Palestinian state primarily because such a step would represent an absolute windfall for the interests of the United States. As America continues the defense of its citizens and its freedoms in the global War on Terrorism, a final and satisfactory resolution of the Mideast conflict, which is the single greatest source of anti-American sentiment throughout the Arab and Muslim worlds, would be an invaluable asset. Such a resolution is possible only with a restoration of Palestinian rights in the land that has been their home for centuries without interruption. The longer this denial of rights persists, the more difficult it will be to convince young people to choose the path of peace.

Hi, I was just wondering why there is a "terrorist" tag on this article? Is it because the president's security is so important that gate crashing constitutes terrorism?

It does potentially, that's why all the worry about the gatecrashing at the White House.

OK so then I guess I'm still confused about your story above. I mean these people were really dumb, but there doesn't seem to be any malicious intent on their part. The real problem is with security being lax---perhaps assuming that anyone who is in politics or even just Caucasian looking and dressed nicely is an expected guest, when they could just as easily be a terrorist. But what does that have to do with this guy's bio? Are you saying that his involvement with the ATFP is a red flag for terrorism? If so, I guess I'd like to see some evidence for that.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm genuinely curious here, not trying to be rude.
