Nicely done. I'm hoping that the Obama campaign will contact Mr. Blechman to print hundreds of tousands of posters/t-shirts.

The Shepard Fairey style posters/art are played out and actually say nothing about the campaign. In fact they play into the Obama as celebrity meme, that the RNC is jamming down the public"s throat. I hope to never see another adulatory Obama poster. Lets get tough! This is a great start.

NO MCCAIN! NO MORE DAMNED REPUBLICANS!

It would have been more apt if, instead of an elephant's, it's Bush's face that is behind the mask.

The elephant in the room (@RNC) = Republican :)

O wait, that's their symbol.

I'm surprised that people see the McCain - Palin ticket as change. They sure have started to talk up change, but if you look at little closer at their campaign, you'll see that their chief strategist is Steve Schmidt, a former Karl Rove protege, and campaign staffer from Bush's 2004 reelection. This seems to me like more of what we've had for the last 8 years than any real change. I just wonder if the public will fall for this sleight of hand, and I don't see how John McCain can say with a straight face that he and Steve Schmidt are all about change.

This conservative strategy is working because the masses aren't very bright. Most don't know that there are three branches of the government. In a country (idiocracy) where the citizens are more engaged with American Idol contestants, its no wonder they swallow up what they see on t.v. without further investigation

What about Palin

Back in 1996, when she first became mayor, Sarah Palin asked the city librarian if she would be all right with censoring library books should she be asked to do so.

According to news coverage at the time, the librarian said she would definitely not be all right with it. A few months later, the librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, got a letter from Palin telling her she was going to be fired. The censorship issue was not mentioned as a reason for the firing. The letter just said the new mayor felt Emmons didn't fully support her and had to go.

Emmons had been city librarian for seven years and was well liked. After a wave of public support for her, Palin relented and let Emmons keep her job.

It all happened 12 years ago and the controversy long ago disappeared into musty files. Until this week. Under intense national scrutiny, the issue has returned to dog her. It has been mentioned in news stories in Time Magazine and The New York Times and is spreading like a virus through the blogosphere.

The stories are all suggestive, but facts are hard to come by. Did Palin actually ban books at the Wasilla Public Library?

In December 1996, Emmons told her hometown newspaper, the Frontiersman, that Palin three times asked her -- starting before she was sworn in -- about possibly removing objectionable books from the library if the need arose.

Wake up and smell the coffee. The problem is not that Palin has fascistic leanings towards thought control (what a shock!). The problem is how fascistic the leanings of the American Silent Majority of moralistic Catholic and Evangelical working-class theocrats are. Over and over again, polls of the mob have shown that they don't even support the Bill of Rights! Palin is not just the female Reagan, she's the female Mussolini with a friendly face: all for war and babies, in the best fascist tradition.

I disagree with the cartoon

McCain is not an average republican under a new face.
As he is quoted in Obama's new ad McCain brags that he voted with Bush More than most republicans

It should be the other way around. With a nice elephant out in front and a scary looking McCain face ready to pop-out when elected

I disagree with the cartoon as well. It is cute but McCain is obviously the same old republican with the same old face and policies. If he still had his maverickness(sic) it might be more appropriate!

The Palin effect = Stocks tanked 300 points down the day after! One BIG hangover in Wall Street, definitely a GOP stronghold. No afterglow there either! ... The Bush-Mc-Palin ticket = Two days later, economists admit we're beyond recession. ANOTHER Black Friday for the country with more banks closing, government bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, higher unemployment rates, more foreclosures, et al.
So the viewers tuned in to see the GOP's "Springer Show." No big deal. Good half-time entertainment. But where's the BEEF? Who's the REAL Change Agent? Give the GOP a well-deserved four-year break. If it"s CHANGE you want, don't settle for the imitation. VOTE for the REAL thang: Obama/Biden"08!

The cartoon is cute, somewhat funny but I hope this is just the beginning of political cartooning for the Huffington Post, which is definitely needed. If there an on-staff cartoonist that I am not aware of, then my apologies.
