How to Honor Rush Limbaugh on International Women's Day (VIDEO)

Posted: 03/ 8/2012 3:54 pm

Co-Authored by Jesse Lava

As of this writing, 49 sponsors have pulled out of The Rush Limbaugh Show after his repeated demeaning remarks about Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke. But of course, this isn't the first time Rush has slandered women. Or the second. Or the fifth. Or the tenth. He makes a career out of enflaming misogynistic (not to mention xenophobic, racist and classist) passions.

So with today being International Women's Day, we at Brave New Foundation are celebrating Rush Limbaugh with a mash-up of some of his greatest hits on women:

Anyone who wants to contact Rush's dwindling number of sponsors to demand that they withdraw their support can find a good list here. Can each of us put another nail in the coffin of Rush's career?

Great video. Hey, since this is International Women's Day, who's interested in getting a day organized where women can march in major cities all over the country?? I think we need to march to protect our rights, health, and in some cases, our very lives. I also think women's marches this year would be absolutely galvanizing--women really need to turn out in droves this fall to vote--and this may generate enthusiasm.

I wasn't sure the best way to get something started, so I wrote to moveon.org and asked them to help. However, seems to me that one person writing them and asking for this is going to get nowhere. I think it would be great if you would write them also if you're interested.

I apologize linking you to another post of mine, but HP won't let me repeat the same text twice. However, at this url I've got the moveon address and proposed text: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/social/REMEMBER2050/international-womens-day-congress-abortion_n_1332143_139982974.html

Please do this! I'm going out to buy some jack boots for this, whatever the hell they are!

I looks like his spots are being filled by PSA's. Some advertisers remain. Keep the pressure on !

MMFA has been following closely as well:

He apologized, at this point libs look ridiculous pursuing this. Letterman is still on the air...same with Ed Schultz or Bill Maher. Lighten up.
