Send Bill O'Reilly Back to School

It's back-to-school time! Parents are starting to shop for their children's school supplies: notebooks, pencils, crayons, and of course, Bill O'Reilly's book, The O'Reilly Factor for Kids. Talk about one of these things being NOT like the others!

O'Reilly thinks he can teach our children proper behavior, and we can't think of a worse father figure than an angry, hate-filled shock jock notorious for telling guests to "Shut up!" We wondered what would happen if kids read O'Reilly's book and then saw the real O'Reilly for themselves. So we put together a video to illustrate O'Reilly's duplicity.

O'Reilly's bullying antics show he never learned the lessons the rest of us were taught in school. Send this video to all the teachers, parents, parents-to-be, and anyone who has contact with kids, and don't forget to Digg it! Tell us what your teachers taught you that O'Reilly should have learned about how to be a responsible grown-up, or what your kids' teachers have taught them. We'll put all your suggestions together and send the list to O'Reilly at FOX News.

It's bad enough O'Reilly spews hate-filled lies on his shows to grown-up audiences, do we really want our children to be exposed to the same behavior? Do we really want this angry adult influencing our kids? While we only subjected the kids in our video to a few minutes of O'Reilly in order to prevent permanent damage, imagine the harm his children's book could do!

The O'Reilly Factor for Kids came out just as O'Reilly was hit with a harassment suit by one of his producers, Andrea MacKris. He settled out of court reputedly for 7 figures. Great timing on his part.

Bill O'Reilly is an example of a modern day form of white male affirmative action. One would think that the job of a commentator would at least require such individuals to form opinions or statements that are accurate, researched, insightful, rational/logical, and based on facts. With "talking heads" such as Bill O'Reilly, that is seldom what occurs. It can be stated with certainty that a black female who conducted commentary in such a manner would not have a public platform to do so while being sponsored for such.

O'Reilly, was hired because he helps to make FOX news the highest ad revenue generating cable news outlet in America and has had the top rated time slot for over seven years. A preponderance of cable news watchers have more faith in O'Reilly's ability to be fair and balanced than the others. Otherwise, they'd be watching the others.

Affirmative action is a liberal concept probably left to another day and issue, as it certainly doesn't apply to the free market of ideas and money. Americans have voted with their remote controls that FOX and O'Reilly are better than the rest.

Send Bill O'Reilly back to Sunday School to learn about the faith he claims. He likes the Bible for its rules and laws so he can point his finger at SINNERS and gloat and monger scandal and gossip and hate along with his beloved Ann Coulter. Those two are so full of pride. They are so satisfied now that they have seen a Democrat get ambushed and put to public shame. Those two conservative "Christian" Republicans conveniently ignore the Bible for its compassion for those who are struggling, for sinners, and for those who are suffering and are helpless. Jesus was forgiving and kind toward sinners yet harsh toward hypocrites. I wonder when Bill O'Reilly will report on Gordon Robertson's extramarital affair, you know since Fox is fair and balanced and is looking out for its conservative Republican audience.

Thanks Robert - appreciate your work. I think one way to approach teaching a young person about the negative aspects of a Bill O'Reilly (or a Sean Hannity, or Ann Coulter, or Laura Ingraham, or Steve Doocy) would be to focus on ignorance (my mother would use that term to describe a person who was basically a bully), and to be wary of people who claim to be Christian, but who fail to live up to Christian principles. For instance, Bill O'Reilly presents himself as an advocate of a traditional Christmas, but at a superficial level, that is talking about Christmas trees. A traditional Christmas message is more along the lines of peace on earth and goodwill towards men. If O'Reilly uses terms like 'throw him under the bus' and interrupts people he demonstrates neither goodwill, nor positive communication skills. Positive communication skills emphasise aspects like positiveness, openness, supportiveness, empathy, and a readiness to apply conflict resolution and problem solving rather than escalating problems. There's also classic literature figures like Scrooge in Dickens as negative symbols and solid parallels to O'Reilly and co. IMHO :-)

Tell me about those hate-filled lies on his shows to grown-up audiences. I have often watched his program, but the only lies I know associated in any way with O'Rielly, are those I see and read on Oberslam and HuffPro.
