Newt Gingrich and the GOP's New Welfare Talking Points


Remember welfare? The GOP does, fondly. Not that they want pre-Clinton welfare programs back, they just want the issue back (kind of how they miss the Cold War but not the Soviets).

So they're trying to bring welfare back, as an issue anyway.

Jack Farrell over at US News's Thomas Jefferson Street blog has a great take-down of the new welfare talking points. Time was, Jack points out, the GOP actually liked income tax credits.

Reading the article, it's just more of the little twists in wording and labeling that the Repubs have been doing since the dawn of Newt and his "Contract" days and seen well into this campaign....gotta find that little point somewhere that we can twist, then dig at so the base gets all riled up!! I can here the Limbaugh brothers, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc, now...just harping for months on end about "welfare".
