Robert Shuter
Robert Shuter (Ph.D Northwestern University) is director and founder of the Center for Intercultural New Media Research. A pioneer in international and intercultural communication studies, Dr. Shuter is professor of international communication at Marquette University in the Diederich College of Communication. He has served as visiting professor and scholar at USC Marshall School of Business, NYU Stern School of Business, and Arizona State University, Hugh Downs School of Communication(Spring, 2014). He is past chair of the International and Intercultural Communication Division of the National Communication Association. Recognized as one of the leading researchers on communication across cultures, he has published scores of articles in major scholarly journals including Journal of Social Psychology, Journal of Communication, Communication Monographs, and Management Communication Quarterly as well as in popular press outlets like the New York Times, Crains, and the Wall Street Journal. He is the author of Communicating in Multinational Organizations and Understanding Misunderstandings, and has consulted extensively for corporations in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
