Robin Steinberg is the founder and Executive Director of The Bronx Defenders, an institutional provider of public defense, family defense and civil legal services in the South Bronx. In her career, Robin has worked as a criminal trial lawyer with The Legal Aid Society and as a founding member and deputy director of The Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. In 1997, she founded The Bronx Defenders, the first public defense office to utilize “holistic advocacy,” a client-centered, one-stop shop, legal defense model. Robin is a frequent speaker and panelist. She trains defenders nationally and internationally and was the recipient of the 2009 New York State Defender Association’s Service of Justice Award.
