Making It Official: I Endorse Barack Obama

I assumed most people already knew that I had supported Obama. Anyone who has spent five minutes listening to my program would have known that. But if it helped to make it official, I'm happy to make it so.

Of course Ron Reagan endorses Obama. He has never been aligned with the politics of his father, and the Republicans loathe him.

If Nancy endorsed Obama, that would be a horse of a different color indeed.

I don't blame Ron. The Republican party as his father knows it died a long time ago. The Republicans need to go underground for a few years and regroup and redesign the party a way to make it appealing to all sides - not just the reactionist right. That is why Palin is so not the future of the party; if anything, leaders like Ron Paul and Bobby Jindal represent the future of the party.

In the tradition of the Reagan family Ron is thinking independently. Ronald Reagan was a new deal Democrat and famously changed to being a conservative Republican.

I know that Ron Reagan is considered by most to be Liberal. But in the spirit of his Father's conservatism,
Barack Obama is more to the center, contrary to the way the Right paints him, then John McCain, lately running on a far-right, neo-con agenda. The neo-cons, some of the biggest spenders in our history, also succeeded in painting Bill Clinton as Liberal. If you examine Clintons policies, he was really smack dab in the center. When Obama tacked to the center, he got some Republican endorsements.

Thank you Ron for the future of America! My grand kids are going to be better off if Senator Obama becomes President. Franklin Roosevelt became President under similar circumstances and he wanted to grow the economy from the bottom up. This may be the most historic event in our lifetime.
Roosevelt is probably about to smile on us once again!
