Ross D. Levi, Esq. is Director of Public Policy & Education for the Empire State Pride Agenda, one of the largest statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights and advocacy organizations in the country. Based in Albany, Ross is responsible for developing the policy priorities and public positions of the Pride Agenda, and for the creation and maintenance of educational materials and programs. He has been actively involved with the passage of dozens of laws, ordinances and regulations affecting New York's LGBT community, including New York State's Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act, the Hate Crimes Act of 2000, repeal of the state's sodomy laws, making the state's 9/11 relief fully inclusive of same-sex families, guaranteeing hospital visitation privileges for domestic partners, giving domestic partners legal authority over a loved one's bodily remains and securing over $35 million of public funding for LGBT health and human services. Before joining the Pride Agenda, Ross was Legislative Director for New York State Senator Nellie Santiago of Brooklyn.
