Dr. Ruth Bettelheim currently practices as an Executive/Life Coach in Los Angeles, California. She was trained at the University of Chicago and UCLA, and has been a practicing psychotherapist, marriage and family counselor, and lecturer, for over forty years. The daughter of renowned psychoanalyst and author Bruno Bettelheim, she has taught Child Development at the Claremont Graduate School, the California School of Professional Psychology and the Center for Early Education. She is the co-author of Early Schooling in Asia (with Ruby Takanishi), and the author of “Binuclear Man” (published in What Makes a Man, Rebecca Walker ed., Riverhead Books, 2004). Her writing has appeared in Greater Good, and the New York Times, and she is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post.
