So I'm watching hardball and they are talking about the new gutter campaign of McCain. Pat Buchanan is ranting more of his barely concealed racist venom. Mathews keeps saying that McCain shouldn't go down this road and incite people to violence. Buchanan says all this crap about how Obama hangs with terrorists and basically makes him out to be the Manchurian Candidate. To hear Pat and his ilk talk, democrat bad - republican good. Perhaps they should be reminded about a few things.
Such as how many of his golden republicans have been convicted of crimes during the last eight years. Abramoff, Scooter Libby, Senator Craig, Tom Delay, etc. Oh yes, we mustn't forget the congressman who was raping senate pages. Or the bathrooms in Minneapolis and beyond. Yes Pat, these are exactly the folks I want to run this government. What a sad, sad mission to try to defend the most corrupt, degenerate political party this nation has ever known. Maybe he deserves kudos for trying, but it is just so damned obscene. And I hope Chris Mathews is wrong that these mud slinging perverts can influence those whom he calls low information voters. This country is in pitiful shape when our politics degenerate to their present level. I worry that we may be nearing a civil disturbance, perhaps even another civil war. When politics becomes war, often real war follows. And the swift boat radicals were bad enough, but when you call your opponent a terrorist anti-american and make racial inuendos you have crossed a line. Are we still united? Are we all still Americans? Should we start a war? Or should we all just calm down and reexamine our goals and methodology. We must show that we are above this gutter, nazi like politics. We must elect Obama and try to mend this national divide.
