Ryan serves as the Energy & Climate Project Manager for the Charleston-based Coastal Conservation League (CCL). The League's mission is to protect the natural environment of South Carolina while enhancing the quality of life of the state's communities by working with individuals, businesses, and governments to ensure balanced solutions.

Ryan joined CCL after completing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Prior to graduate school, he gained professional experience working in finance, real estate development and low-income housing policy. Ryan also holds a BA in Political Science with a certificate in Political Economy from Princeton University. He has lived and worked in Japan, and enjoys hiking, bicycling and playing beach volleyball.
