Ryan Harper is a graduate student in the department of religion at Princeton University, where he is completing a dissertation on contemporary southern gospel music. Ryan's essays and poems have appeared in a number of journals and magazines, most recently Sugar House Review, The Other Journal, The Potomac Review, Ruminate and The Litchfield Review.

A native of southeastern Missouri, Ryan currently resides in New Jersey with his spouse, chaplain and writer Lynn Casteel Harper. Ryan is also a jazz drummer, long distance runner and proud southpaw.
