Who Wants to Be Loved, Anyway?

John McCain's newest ad shows Barack Obama being adored by 200,000 Germans during his recent trip abroad. Also making guest appearances in the ad are Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, two people who have nothing in common with Obama except for their fame. In the ad, titled "Celeb," John McCain raises an important question: Is Barack Obama too well-liked and respected around the world to be president?

Why would any American want their president to bring out the world's best feelings about America?! John McCain is hedging his bid for the presidency on the idea that Americans want a president who inspires all the world to burn American flags.

How can that possibly be true?

If it did not state that it was paid for by John McCain, I would have thought it was a bad parody from an aweful season of Saturday Night Live. Coming from KALIFORNIA, a LALALAND where a certian buddy of ours (Ours in mine and yours, RYAN : ), is a celebrity Governor who opposes off-shore drilling, I found that ad to be a waste of money. And as for "raising taxes", who is it that will look at raising Social Security taxes, one of the most regressive taxes there is because it taxes the affluent less disproportionately?
But of course, the ad will never see the light of day in The Golden State because the numbers are for "O" here.
