Salam Kanaan
Salam Kanaan is the country director for CARE Jordan. She is a development and humanitarian professional with over 20 years of experience with international organizations, the UN, academic and research institutions in the Middle East. With an academic background in Health and Education from the American University in Beirut, Salam has worked with several organizations, including UNRWA, and the British Council in Amman, the World Bank and CARE in the occupied Palestinian territory. Prior to joining CARE Jordan last month, Salam was the Country Director of Save the Children UK in the oPt. Her work focused on addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality, working in a comprehensive manner to serve individuals and families and facilitate lasting change.
