He started Call It Mile High in June of 2009 after interviewing at Sports Illustrated; Sam has yet to receive a job, internship, or paper-filing offer from the magazine he so loves.

Sam grew up in Denver, attended high school in Boston, and recently graduated from Hamilton College where he majored in history. His only sports writing qualification is that he used to live down the street from Rick Reilly. Sam’s inspiration remains the work of George A. Plimpton.
