That was funny. But it seemed like to make about half of the jokes you had to resort to tired old canards or just conflate Mormonism and Scientology. At least you didn't crib directly from South Park and make the "looking into a magic hat" joke that all of my friends think is the actual origin of the Book of Mormon.
My personal theory on mittens and battlefield earth? He wanted to say his favorite book was one of the books by Orson Scott Card who used as source material/inspiration some of the narrative from the Book of Mormon. Caught with no slick answer and knowing the truth would only bring more scrutiny, he took a similar work of sci-fi quasi-religious drivel and used that instead. Just a theory......
