Some days I'm just not up for the whole makeup/hair routine but I still want to look put together and presentable when I head out the door. In an effort to cut out the fuss and become more efficient in my makeup application I have learned a few shortcuts.

These hacks just might be for you if you can relate to any of these scenarios.

1) I ran out of my liquid liner and have been too lazy to go out and buy a new one

When I am in between products I use an angle brush and my mascara. That's right, my mascara. I dab the brush onto my mascara wand and use it as eyeliner. This is a great trick that holds me over until I have the opportunity to buy some more liner.

My Recommendation:

2) I am not in the mood to deal with any brushes

I just want to throw on some liner and mascara and call it a day. I do however understand the importance of brightening up my face with some blush. On days like these I use a pink lipstick and dab it on my cheeks. I then rub it in to give my cheeks a pop of color that mimics blush perfectly.

3) It has been weeks since I have gotten my eyebrows done

When things really get out of hand I fill my brows in with a brow pencil to help better define the shape. I then use a cream concealer on my brow bone to cover any stray hairs. This is minimizes the appearance of my overdue bushy brows and holds me over until my next threading appointment.

My Recommendation:

4) Touching up my lipstick throughout the day feels like a total pain

After applying my lipstick in the morning I lay a thin tissue over my lips and apply translucent powder. This old trick works like a charm and I don't have to touch up during the day.

My Recommendation:

5) I hate smelling like a perfume factory when I first apply my perfume just to have it completely disappear by the end of the night

In order to get my perfume to last all day and all night I take some chapstick and apply it to my wrists and on the side of my neck to create a sticky base for my perfume. I then spray these areas for long lasting results. With this trick I don't have to apply nearly as much in my initial application.

My Recommendation:

Any (NON-TINTED!) chapstick will do

6) I love the look of a sleek ponytail but fly aways and baby hairs are my worst enemy

Instead of using a comb or brush to smooth back fly aways, I use a clean toothbrush. The density of these thin bristles will tame a tuck away any loose hairs. I am always left with a smooth chic ponytail.

My Recommendation:

You don't need anything fancy. This is the one I use: Black Charcoal Toothbrush toothbrush by Morihata

7) I just want a quick smokey eye without all the hassle

For a quick no fuss smokey eye I use the "hashtag" trick. All I do is draw a hashtag (#) at the outer corner of my eye with a kohl eyeliner. Once I have my hashtag in place I just blend it out with a brush. This smokey eye takes me less than 1 minute an eye which is perfect for my lazy days.
