The Devil In The Vatican

What's Your Reaction:

Doesn't anyone at the Vatican know the first thing about crisis management?

Take responsibility, be honest, promise change, execute a well-publicized plan, and show results. Fast.

Instead, the Vatican keeps shoveling out more denial, playing the victim, blaming the media. The homily I heard this Easter Sunday in downtown NYC made me cringe at its false claims: the Church is "under attack" and the Pope needs our unqualified support and prayers. Jesus was a warrior, and Easter was a "battle victory."

At the Vatican that same day, Cardinal Sardano turned the Easter Mass into a pep rally for Pope Benedict. Sardano claimed that pedophilia cover-up claims were nothing but "petty gossip."

This is insane, it is not strategic, and it is not in keeping with Catholic teaching. We Catholics do not believe that the Pope is perfect, or "infallible," most of the time. Our Pope is a man and a sinner, not a king. He messed up. He needs to show empathy with the victims.

While he was still Cardinal in Germany, Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict-to-be) signed off on an "untreatable" pedophile, Father Peter Hullerman, and let him return to work with kids from 1979 to 2010. That's 31 years of child sexual abuse from one guy. How many more Hullermans were there?

The more I learn about Pope Benedict, the more I realize that the Church needs a revolutionary period of deep renewal. Amidst the darkness of this damaging scandal, the light of the "Vatican III" Conference had better be around the corner.

I've been reading Betty Clermont's new book, The Neo Catholics a devastating history of the rise of the NeoCon Right. Turns out that rise paralleled that of a swing to the right inside the Vatican, as Reagan built up US-Vatican ties.

From age 14 to 16, Ratzinger was a Nazi in the Hitler Youth. So the Vatican's claim last week that their plight was akin to that of the Jews in the Holocaust was just ... weird. What a tasteless lack of empathy with the Jews. As reported by an Italian newspaper, "certain Catholic circles" in Rome blame the entire outcry on "a New York Jewish lobby" out to get the Pope.

In five short years, Pope Benedict reversed much of the interfaith work of Pope John Paul II. He brought back ornate, gilded ceremonial robes with 20-foot trains and decorated with the coat of arms of the House of Medici -- the wealthy Italian banking family that got four of its own elected pope over the course of four centuries. They presided over the peak in the Church's power, from the Dark Ages to the Counter-Reformation to Church's resistance to the Enlightenment.

I was raised a Catholic and got 12 years of Catholic education. I broke with the Church and was an atheist for the first 10 years of my adulthood. Glad I did it, too; I learned a lot about God that way. I came back into the Church out of a need for truth, for God, and for community. But I am not a slave to those needs, and there are many ways to fulfill them. Something has to change for me to stay in this Catholic Church.

Christianity is supposed to be about empathy with the victims of evil. Instead, we have a parish priest who denounces yoga and Feng Shui.

The thing for Pope Benedict to do now is to redeem his sins. Turn back and fight the evil in our society. And here's a way how: there are underground pedophilia cults operating today in America. Exposing them is an object lesson in American power.

Author Nick Bryant's new book, The Franklin Scandal, sheds light on a specific abusive cult with links to the GOP, the CIA, the Catholic Church, and various DC politicians. The scandal reared its ugly demonic head in 1989, when it was splashed across the pages of the Washington Times. According to the documentary Conspiracy of Silence, the story involved a Nebraska Catholic orphanage called Boys Town, which acted as a source of boys for a pedophile network.

Lawrence E. King, director of the Franklin Community Federal Credit Union and a rising black star in the GOP, was in business in the late 80s with Craig Spence, the "pimp" of the operation. Spence and his boy-toys took midnight tours of the White House, thanks to military, intelligence, and Bush White House ties. Spence died a mysterious death in a hotel room just 10 weeks after the first story broke in the Washington Times. Conspiracy of Silence was later pulled from the Discovery Channel, and the Washington Post went out of its way to attack the Washington Times for covering the story. Two Grand Jury investigations in Nebraska convicted no perpetrators, and instead indicted two victims for "perjury," one of whom received the exorbitant sentence of 9 to 15 years.

Instead of Catholic services on Good Friday, I spent time with Nick Bryant. Writing The Franklin Scandal, Bryant endured police searches, harassment, a death threat, and a media blackout. But last week, the sunshine was pure and life-giving as we met up in Washington Square Park. With cool breezes, people's laughter, and live bluegrass in the air, it became easier to talk about darkest evil. I asked Nick if he saw similarities between the Vatican's current cover-up and what happened with Franklin.

"It's exactly the same," he said. "Their M.O. is deny, deny, deny. If any victims come forward, slam them. That formula has been used forever."

What about Father Gabriele Amorth, the chief exorcist at the Vatican? Amorth made headlines in the UK press with his revelation that the Devil was running amok inside the Vatican. The problem is serious -- there are "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon."

Nick was unfazed: "I would agree with him, but I don't want to come off as anti-Catholic. Some of the most spiritually developed people I know are Catholic. I've had to enlarge my spiritual life to do this story, because it's drenched in so much evil." Nick is a practicing Quaker.

Nick managed to acquire the sealed documentation of one of the grand juries that covered up the "Franklin" child-trafficking network. The documents included nearly two hundred flight logs, with the majority of the flights destined for Washington, DC. There, Craig Spence's house was wired for audio-visual blackmail. Top politicians would be compromised, and then controlled. Nick describes Craig Spence as a "self-confessed CIA asset" and has other sources to back up Spence's claims. Welcome to the underbelly of US power, another dance with the devil.

"The Justice Department, FBI, and Secret Service went into a full court press to vaporize this scandal, so the American people wouldn't get wind that such malevolent corruption existed in their government," says Nick.

Another thing that Nick pointed out on Friday is that Martin Luther was personally revolted by the pedophilia, incompetence, and commercialism of Giovanni di Lorenzo de Medici, a.k.a. Pope Leo X. Instead of reflecting on any of the "95 Theses" Luther included in his critique, Pope Leo X attacked Luther as a "drunken German." What followed was five hundred years of warfare between Christians.

That's the end result of playing with the black magic of worldly power. You end up destroying the unity of the church of life and light. Forsake the Kingdom of God, and you naturally create rebels. If you claim the authority of God, but don't do what God would do, then what do you turn into? You are like a dog asleep in a manger, not eating the food of life, and blocking others as you sleep.

Thanks to Sander Hicks for the article.
Thanks to Nick Bryant for his efforts regarding 'Franklin'.
A special thanks to the old timers who fought this before 'human trafficking' was on the public's radar screen.

To quote Nick: '... The Franklin Scandal is about an interstate pedophile network that was covered up by the Justice Department, FBI, and Secret Service, and at least one of the network’s pedophilic pimps had ties to the CIA... ...I had two primary objectives once I grudgingly concluded that Franklin was a reality: The first objective was to prove its existence, and the second was to decouple it from Internet speculation and conjecture"

Apparently Nick is convinced these major institution's involvement isn't necessarily 'Internet speculation and conjecture'. Is pedophilia the only driver for these major institutions covering 'Franklin'?

...as the subtitle of the book " the Franklin Scandal" suggests, it's "A Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse & Betrayal" so it's inherently about poitical influence and compromise too.

Well done, Nick! You have done an excellent job in presenting a concise account of the sordid business that went on in Nebraska and Washington D.C. Your book the "Franklin Scandal" translated the intricacies and connections from the Franklin Credit Union Scandal, to the Paedophilia (child abuse - Webbs), to Nebraska's elite, to Washington D.C, and the corruption that came out involving our law enforcement, and our justice system. There are few books that can walk a reader through the voluminous information that you had to deal with. Especially the Grand Jury information. Outstanding research and presentation!

Regarding 'conspiracy theory' terminology and labeling: At what point, as a society, do we imagine that conspiracies DON'T exist? Where is the language for 'conspiracy REALITIES?' We absolutely MUST get our heads out of the sand and acknowledge that crime happens, corruption happens, and it happens at least as much in high places as among the poor and middle income tax brackets. The more power you have, the more responsibility you have to use it to benefit others, and unfortunately, the more ability you have to abuse that power. Transparency of corporations, banks and the government is 100% the first way we can get accountability and responsibility from these agencies, whether they be academic, civic, religious, philanthropic, etc. I get so frustrated with people who only offer denial, and it makes me automatically suspect they are either very ignorant and/or abusers themselves.

(Part 2 entry, too long for one)...only to have the corrupt court system take custody away from the non-abusive parent and place the children with the pedophilic parent. This will soon be airing on Dr. Phil (next week, I believe). These Mom's have really really suffered for supporting their children in speaking out against sexual abuse and telling the truth; not to mention the suffering the children have gone through and are still going through today. There are many many documented cases of this. I spent Friday and Saturday at the 16th Annual Northern California Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Conference (put on by the California Protective Parents' Association http://www.protectiveparents.com/) and heard from a former LA-County DA, Robin Sax (http://www.robinsax.com/, about her experiences with trying to prosecute child sexual abuse cases. She left her job to become an child advocate and educate law enforcement and judicial personnel, as well as the general public and media. It was a highly educational weekend, even for me. These things are very clearly connected to anyone who has the time to research and dig deep enough, wading through the info sea and misinformation distractions. I go prayerfully! Thanks so much for writing and publishing this article. There are kids and adults still out there, still being abused, like Johnny Gosch (www.justiceforjohnnygosch.com), who deserve to be able to come home, and denial won't get any of us home!

I haven't had the chance to read all this wonderful discussion in the comments section. I will however, offer that I think this article should've been on the front page, not in the religion section, as with all articles relating to this type of abuse. Speaking out regarding corruption that threatens our family health, safety and free agency are vital to making our world a place where our children and grandchildren can THRIVE. I myself, along with my sister, am a survivor of the CIA's MK Ultra Project Monarch mind control and ritual abuse program, and what's more, I know that this program continues in various guises. Additionally, the racket going on in the California Family Court System, which relies on junk science spread by CIA-front groups and organized crime, has recently come under investigation by the State Auditor (finally!) after years and years of hard work on the part of mothers and parents who have reported sexual abuse of their children, only to have the corrupt court system take custody away from the non-abusive parent and place the children with the pedophilic parent.

I also want to thank Sander Hicks for writing about The Franklin Scandal. I’ve read all of the comments, and I want to weigh in on a few of them. I saw that one person called The Franklin Scandal a “conspiracy theory”--his or her comment gave me a hearty chuckle. I spent 7 years and traveled 40,000 researching the book, and I’ve also combed through thousands of pages of documentation--many of which were sealed by a very corrupt grand jury: I believe that the corroboration in The Franklin Scandal eclipses Woodward and Bernstein’s Watergate corroboration. Whereas their minimum standard of corroboration was double, mine was quadruple for any facet of the story and I often surpassed quadruple corroboration.

I also saw the term “New World Order” used in a comment, which I found somewhat perplexing, because that term is never used in the book. The Franklin Scandal is about an interstate pedophile network that was covered up by the Justice Department, FBI, and Secret Service, and at least one of the network’s pedophilic pimps had ties to the CIA. “Franklin” has bounced around the Internet for years and, unfortunately, has been intertwined with much apocryphal conjecture and speculation. I had two primary objectives once I grudgingly concluded that Franklin was a reality: The first objective was to prove its existence, and the second was to decouple it from Internet speculation and conjecture.

Nick you want to look into the goings on. What were all those recordings of the politicians with the boys used for? What policy were the folks trying to advance? What was going on at the same time. You don't think these folks went to all this trouble for regular pieces of legislation do you. It has been stated that friendly domestic intelligence folks were the ones doing the recording. AKA George H.W. Bush, he is the one behind the New World Order. Which is made up of tons of treaties that gradually give up National Sovereignty and are contrary to US interests to say the least.

These three things were going on at the same time with the same individuals involved.
1) Mena Arkansas and the drug smuggling
2) The Franklin Scandal
3) George H.W. Bush and his goal of the NWO

Elijah, I think you are jumping to precarious conclusions. The known facts of Franklin do not support such far reaching agendas. The point of all this is to prove children were/are abused and that is hard enough considering the amount of federal force used to suppress the provable facts.

Bringing more unwieldly facets into the debate merely confuses and can look a lot like deliberate distraction from the central case. In order for this story to finally be acknowledged by the mainstream we have to concentrate on the provable and not lose ourselves in the realms of what can sound like bedroom revolutionary talk.

The point of Hicks' article I believe is to point out the facts of deliberate cover up by both govenments and the Vatican. Considering the church is in such tight focus on these issues at this very moment worldwide, bringing Franklin into that same focus and pointing out the same abuses in relation to realative the connection to the Pope will concentrate the realisation of the truth of Franklin for a lot of ordinary people, so talking of such political conjecture like the N.W.O. et al. only distracts that focus and does a disservice to the Franklin campaign and the thrust of Nick's book and current work.

If you believe in such agendas write your own book or start your own campaign. Thanks.

Congratulations Sander! Finally someone has the courage to speak out. I appreciate your efforts and your reference to Nick Bryant and his work. Victims only have a voice if people listen. Nick's book gave victims a voice and our society a call to action. Thank you for answering the call...

Okay here is the truth. In the early 1980s and through the 80s another group was rising in power, The Globalists under George H.W. Bush, the former head of the CIA and Vice President. It was this group that authorized the use of children and boys in particular by rogue elements of the CIA and other, their goal was to compromise politicians here and abroad so that they would be pro globalism and sign treaties. It is certain treaties that are leading to the New World Order and eventual world government. The New World Order was George H.W. Bush's pet and he used those words often. So that explains the GOP connection to Lawrence King and other politicians and explains the swift opposition from the establishment against publication of the story.

The Franklin Scandal is a great book and a major contribution to the dialogue about the truth of Deep Politics in America. The facts are painful to digest, but once you've accepted the nature of things, and grasped the depth of the depravity of our Ruling Class, there's no looking back, there's no returning to the old daydream. This paradigm shift in perspective is uncomfortable at first, but as you get used to seeing the world through this lens, you'll be glad you shouldered the responsibility.

Accepting the truth about the present situation in the world -- who has the power, and how They abuse it -- is the first step toward liberating ourselves from darkness. My exploration of the Truth continues to lead me toward ever-increasing awe of the power of Good and God.

I've met John DeCamp and spent several uncomfortable hours observing him and listening to him make inappropriate comments, including speaking in Farsi and saying, "Women are for childbirth, boys are for fun." Mr. DeCamp seemed to think this was hilarious. The Franklin "Cover-up" was not a hoax and is a illuminates a serious, serious systemic problem in our Intel agencies, FBI etc....but Mr. DeCamp's work also appears to be nothing more than a put up job.

John DeCamp is not a credible source of information. Fortunately. Nick Bryant's work doesn't need Mr. DeCamp but can stand on it's own as a more accurate account of the sleaze that permeates the halls of governments everywhere. The American people have allowed this with apathy.

The book, "When Corruption Was King" highlights the mobs method for taking over a government, which is to start with traffic cops and move on up from there. Think about it.....if you can control the police and the courts, where do good people go to find redress for grievances?

The situation in Minnesota is bad. Law enforcement in SE MN blatantly participated in false prosecutions, data mining, production and distribution of pornographic material without the knowledge or consent of their targeted victim, narcotics trafficking (according to a Cong).....and despite having this RICO syndicate in it's sights, the DOJ disbanded the investigative task force and allowed this to blossom within our state. The beast responsible for this cancerous growth is CIA..
10:42 AM on 04/09/2010
Totally agree Billygoat0326, DeCamp is not a good source for the whole "truth". Nick Bryant is one that can and has provided the proof of the facts and does not sensationalize the story. No disrespect towards DeCamp which it was he that tried to get justice for the victims but he has shown a tendency to exaggerate to get attention.

The podcast was good info but I feel that Nick Bryant would have been able to provide a better picture of the corruption that happened and probably is continuing today.

John DeCamp seems to have survived despite everyone else that got to close dying. Personally I suspect he is there for disinformation purposes, to confirm the undeniable and to deny the deniable.

It is clear that the New World Order is on track and that their next plan is war with Iran, I suspect these people will blow up a nuclear weapon in the US to start that war, perhaps in a city like the one I live in, Lansing Michigan.

Here are some excellent links on the Franklin Scandal, which is about a pedophile ring that was running at the elite levels of the Republican party in the 1980's. The scandal was covered up by top political players, some of them pedophiles/pederasts themselves:

Unfortunately, the Franklin case has gone largely unnoticed in the history of our Nation and even Omaha (where it originated). It's not only a matter of organized abuse, but an example of trusted institutions hurting those who they're supposed to be helping in the first place. The re-opening of the Franklin case is an imperative component of uncovering the sexual abuse in the United States.

Sander Hicks' comparison between the Vatican scandal and The Franklin Scandal is interesting. It's truly unfortunate that the vast majority of Americans aren't aware of The Franklin Scandal, because the book demonstrates just how corrupt government and the judicial process can be when left unchecked by the media. In The Franklin Scandal, Bryant uses document after document and interview after interview to show that the Justice Department, FBI, and Secret Service’s covered up a coast-to-coast pedophile network that included Boys Town children. So Hicks' comparison of the two scandals begs a rather disturbing question about which is the greater of the two evils: The government's cover up of pedophilia that attacks the victims credibility with grand juries and mind-boggling sentences for perjury or the Catholic Church's cover up of pedophilia that attacks the victims credibility with run-of-the-mill lawyers?
05:29 PM on 04/08/2010
Its not just on paper, our production company is working with Nick Bryant on a documentary based on the Franklin Scandal and the video is astounding.

You can watch an extended trailer at http://rumur.com/johnny

The truth is that many members of the mainstream media have reported on aspects of these political/ pedophile/ priest scandals for the better part of twenty years.

When you put it all together it paints a disturbing picture of child abuse and corruption at the highest levels of power in our culture.

The institutions people have trusted to protect them have failed, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.

This is perfect way to go deeper into the story of the Vatican, and the pedophile cover-up.

A break-through internet radio interview is happening today.

The first author and researcher on the topic was John W. DeCamp, a lawyer, and former Nebraska State Representative. Before he published a book or appeared in suppressed documentaries, he went directly to the Vatican, for help.

And guess who came down to meet him?

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. The future Pope Benedict XVI.

This will be one heck of a radio show, today, the 8th of April, 4 PM. Archived, later, too. Click "Listen Live" at: http://www.gcnlive.com/programs/innReport/

The radio show today, is hosted by NYC independent media activist Tom Kiely, one of the co-founders of INN World Report TV. Here is that link again to the show (at GCN). Program's archives and "listen live" at: http://www.gcnlive.com/programs/innReport/

Thank you Mr. Hicks for having the courage to discuss the Franklin Scandal. I never even heard about the Franklin Scandal until about a year ago and right now I'm nearly through Nick Bryant's book. I highly recommend Bryant's outstanding book to everyone - it's a must read. This is a truth that has been uncovered for far too long and it must be exposed. The Franklin Scandal has left me seething with anger over the total lack of justice for child sex abuse victims. I want justice and I want the perpetrators exposed including the FBI, the CIA and all those high ranking Republican pedophile, pederast perverts.

Part 2:

In the 1960s I found myself hanging out with Catholic priests. They discussed celibacy openly at the time, saying that seminary was divided between the jocks (straight men who could be found playing basketball at all hours of the day and night in an effort to expend sexual energy) and the homosexuals. However, once out of seminary, these priests (gay and straight) would be assigned to parishes and find themselves in close proximity to members of both sexes and all ages. The Church assumes that a vow of celibacy is all that is required to keep a priest from behaving sexually (and a vow of marriage is all that is needed to keep people from committing adultery?). Thus, in 1967, a running joke among Catholic clergymen I knew was "How did Cardinal Spellman die? He ate a poisoned altar boy."

It is the institution of celibacy that has created this monster. A priest in the Eastern Orthodox denominations pretty much has to be married in order to serve a parish. And Catholic priests were not forced into celibacy until much later in Church history. It is one of those doctrinal ideas that might have sounded good at the time, some kind of ideological fantasy of the perfect priest. The Church should realize that celibacy should be the goal of the spiritually-gifted only: monks and anchorites who devote their lives to meditation away from society, in caves or on top of pillars in the desert.
