Sandra Fluke is completing her final semester as a Public Interest Law Scholar at Georgetown University Law Center. Recently, she testified before the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on the need to provide access to contraception - a basic health care necessity. She has since spoken about the necessity of contraception for women across news outlets including The New York Times, Washington Post, TIME Magazine, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CBS television.

Prior to attending Georgetown University Law Center she worked at Sanctuary for Families in New York City, combating domestic violence and human trafficking. Sandra majored in Policy Analysis and Management and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Cornell University, where she graduated with a BS in 2003. She is a native of Saxton, Pennsylvania.
