Super-fun Family Weekend in the Big Apple

Going to NYC is such a fun adventure, especially if you have kids. We have an 11-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son and we go to NYC a lot. I thought it would be cool to try some different things with the kids. So we did some off-the-beaten path things.

Going to NYC is such a fun adventure, especially if you have kids. We have an 11-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son and we go to NYC a lot. I thought it would be cool to try some different things with the kids. So we did some off-the-beaten path things.

Blue Man Group: We traveled downtown away from Broadway and saw The Blue Man Group! It was amazing! Our kids are 9 and 11 (the perfect ages for this show, I probably would not take younger kids). It was super-crazy and entertaining. The audience was very involved. Highly recommended!

NBA Store: For any young basketball enthusiast, this store is sure to please. With multiple levels of basketball facts and fun, your player will be in awe at every turn!

Ladurée Tea Salon & Bakery: While my husband and son were at the NBA store, I took my daughter to the luxurious Ladurée French bakery for afternoon tea and macarons. Their macarons are so divine! Ladurée is an amazing French bakery that any young girl will love! Such a fancy afternoon!

Freedom Tower (One World Observatory): What a gift! The Freedom tower was one of the kids' favorite adventures. The elevator ride takes less than 50 seconds to arrive on the 102nd floor. Once you get out you won't believe your eyes!

Dylan's Candy Bar: This was another favorite with the kids. We let them each get a little bucket and fill it up with their favorite goodies. This shop is iconic and very memorable for kids. They loved the candy staircase!

New York Hilton Midtown: Another thing that made the trip so fantastic was where we stayed. This hotel was centrally located. We took advantage of the executive lounge access, which was great for the kids (drinks and snacks all day long and even breakfast in the AM). I highly recommend the executive lounge access. Also, make sure to ask for a room with a view. Our view was breathtaking!

The Halal Guys: From our hotel room window our kids noticed a truck outside that constantly had a line of people wrapped around the block. One day for lunch, we went down to see what all the hype was about. The food was amazing and the kids loved it. We all ordered the small platter. A yummy combination of salad and rice. If you see one of these trucks, definitely grab something! You won't be sorry! Delicious!
