Have you heard the buzz from the Heart of Dixie? According to Bitch Magazine, "You can carry a gun in Alabama, but don’t get caught trying to buy a Silver Bullet vibrator: the eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals just upheld the state’s law against selling sex toys." The court’s two male judges, Stanley F. Birch and James C. Hill, warned in their ruling that the sale of sex toys is comparable to assisted suicide, adult incest, duels, and prostitution; according to state law, “any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs” could be deemed a serious threat to “order and public morality.” Violation of the law is punishable by a $10,000 fine or one year of hard labor. Readers down South, beware: cucumbers and vibrating cell phones could be next.
