Scott began his career working in advertising as a writer, creative director and commercial director. He was part of the creative team responsible for the famous "Got Milk?" campaign-- as well as campaigns for Major League Baseball, MTV and various environmental groups. His work in advertising has been recognized by the Clio Awards, the Cannes Film Festival and the New York Film Festival. Scott wrote and directed the advertising campaign for The Detroit Project. A group he founded along with Arianna Huffington, Laurie David, Laurence Bender and Ari Emmanuel that takes aim at the role of oil in current U.S. foreign policy.

In 1999, Scott joined the writing staff of the ABC series WONDERLAND, produced by Imagine Entertainment and named by Time Magazine as one of the year's Ten Best New Shows. He has penned numerous screenplays including Section Eight's, THE INFORMANT, an adaptation of Kurt Eichenwald's novel, with Steven Soderbergh attached to direct and Matt Damon to star. Scott recently completed directing his first feature, PU-239, for HBO, Beacon Pictures and Section Eight. Scott also wrote the script which is based on a short story by Ken Kalfus. He joins Laurie David and Laurence Bender as producers of the forthcoming Paramount Classics’ documentary release, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, due in theaters this summer.
