Scott Daniels is a Partner of Monitor Group and has been with the firm since 1994. Over that time he has overseen and participated in projects across a wide range of industries, dealing with issues of corporate strategy, business unit strategy, the consequences of industry evolution, and sources of growth. The bulk of his work has been focused in areas such as telecommunications, energy and chemicals helping companies develop unique growth and competitive strategies in commodity or near-commodity businesses.

Over the past 13 years Scott has designed and been involved in several significant, multi-year engagements with large commodity and specialty chemical producers to evaluate asset and technology portfolio positions and investment opportunities, as well as to develop and implement multi-faceted corporate and business unit strategies. He has also advised gas and electric utilities on regulatory strategy, international consumer goods manufacturers and marketers on Growth Platform development and diversification, and helped a global commodity metals producer conceive of, design and create a specialty materials business.

Scott’s expertise is in micro and macroeconomic analysis, statistical methods, corporate and competitive strategy and business development. He holds an M.A. in economics from Queen’s University where he was a Senator Frank Carrel Fellow, and an Honours B.A. in economics from McGill University. He works out of Monitor’s Toronto office.
