Scott Michelman is a staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, where he litigates issues related to criminal justice reform and abuses of government power arising out of the war on drugs. A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, Mr. Michelman has previously clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and has litigated civil rights cases involving post-9/11 abuse of executive power, discrimination, immigrants' rights, and the freedoms of speech and religion, among other constitutional issues. Mr. Michelman has also taught law school courses at Santa Clara University and Seton Hall University and has been published in the UCLA Law Review.
