Our Republican opponent is still refusing to take a stand on the Obama Economic Recovery Package.
As yesterday's New York Times documented, we've asked Assemblyman Tedisco time and time again for a simple "yes" or "no" but he won't come down one way or the other. Now we're asking for your help to get a straight answer: Please sign our petition to Assemblyman Tedisco - "Take A Stand!"
While I believe the recovery package is far from perfect, I support President Obama's call for bold action. It's essential we provide middle class tax relief, and create jobs in upstate New York immediately. President Obama's economic recovery package is estimated to create or save over 76,000 jobs in Upstate New York and will provide significant budget relief to help hold the line on property taxes.
As we face the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, voters in Upstate New York deserve to receive straight answers from congressional candidates as to how they would vote on President Obama's recovery package. The least Assemblyman Tedisco can do on his 'road to recovery tour' is say whether he'd vote "yes" or "no." Please sign our petition to Assemblyman Tedisco - "Take A Stand!"
Scott Murphy is the Democratic candidate in the March 31st special election to fill Senator Gillibrand's vacant Congressional seat.

Scott, I'm not in Upstate New York, but I agree that we need our representatives to take a stand. I am an Obama supporter, and just read that a Republican representative in Jefferson Country (NORTHERN New York) has decided he has better things to do than to take Obama up on his invitation to Washington to work on New York's needs.
My gosh. Frightens the crap out of me.Here we have Gov Patterson saying he is going to have to cut teachers, etc. And we have a Northern New York Congressman saying he can't be bothered to work with Obama to improve his constituency's life, and he wants to refuse the stimulus funds.
What the heck????
I live in St Lawrence County, sadly a Red county in a Blue state.
The nightmare continues. I swear I am going to pick up and move to a blue state where the elected officials are behind Obama. I voted 100% for Obama, but I fear I will not realize the benefits of a Democratic victory because I live in a really backwards thinking area.
Jeepers.
HELP!!
Good luck with your election!
Scott, you're getting bad advice. Asking Huffpo loons to back your political "gotcha" is no way to win over the centrists in your district. Associate yourself with vehicles like the ALBANY TIMES UNION or KINGSTON FREEMAN. They supported Gilly and they are pre-disposed to support you.
Remember, you are judged by the company you covet and this isn't the place to win and influence your constituents.
Loons? Do you count as one of those since, you know, you're on Huffpost right now? I agree with your statement, but am offended by your massive generalization of the readers of this website.
Loons? They're nice birds and all, but I see no resemblance.
