Scott Rosner is a practice assistant professor in the legal studies and business ethics department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and affiliated faculty member of the Wharton Sports Business Initiative. Rosner also serves as the academic director of the Wharton Sports Business Academy. He teaches courses in sports business management to undergraduate and MBA students, and sports law at Penn Law School. He received the Whitney Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching in 2006 and 2009 and served as the faculty mentor to the University of Pennsylvania’s men’s basketball team from 2003-2008. He previously served as a full-time Lecturer in the same department from July 2002-June 2010, and was associate director of the Wharton Sports Business Initiative from its inception in 2004 through June 2010.

Professor Rosner has led consulting projects with a variety of clients, including the National Football League (multiple engagements), Major League Baseball, the United States Tennis Association, Madison Square Garden Sports, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Union (MLS) (multiple engagements), AVP Tour, AOL Sports, NBA Developmental League, Sports Capital Partners (Real Salt Lake), and USA Football – all through the Wharton School’s Field Application Project. He has also led engagements with various organizations, including the NFL, Red Bull, Cloud 9 Skiing, San Diego State University, The Sacks Group, a Fortune 100 shipping company, and a Fortune 10 global telecommunications firm in his role as the Principal of Hudson Sports Consulting, a sports advisory firm that provides a wide range of services in the business and legal aspects of the sports industry.

Rosner is the lead author of The Business of Sports, a leading textbook now in its second edition that synthesizes a collection of the leading scholarly sports business articles, the first such volume in the field. In addition, he has published numerous articles in highly regarded law reviews and journals and has made numerous presentations at academic conferences.

Professor Rosner received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, an M.S. in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
