What are the basis for these declaration?

Does the number of members have anything to do with it?

I would like to see which are the most effective actual (read: current) facebook groups, but for that would require the existence of at least one effective group, which I haven't really seen. With every overly-enthusiastic article I read about facebook (not to say this is one), I just get more fed up with the slacktivist forum that most people look to today as their first step towards action.
