Dodd's office here late Saturday, taking undisclosed items and leaving evidence at the scene, the police said.

Investigators declined to say what was stolen or what was left behind at the office, which is on Lewis Street.

Sgt. Reggie Allen told WFSB-TV that the police want to immediately process "properties that were left on the scene."
