In an <a href="http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/encyclicals/documents/hf_ben-xvi_enc_20090629_caritas-in-veritate_en.html">encyclical </a>released this week (hat tip to the <a href="http://blog.aflcio.org/2009/07/08/papal-encyclical-workers-rights-to-form-unions-must-be-honored/">AFL-CIO Now blog)</a>, the Pope embraced the right to form unions as essential to economic justice.</p>
