This song is called "Native New Yorker," from my new album Potato Hole. The idea was to paint a picture of a post 9/11 New Yorker, born and raised, who knew the pain but was moving ahead with pride, a nice suit, and playing air guitar with a smile and some attitude.
Neil Young, who plays guitar on this track, had an instant understanding of where we were going with this one. The only thing to work out was the structure....
