<p>The cable giant backed down under <a href=https://secure.freepress.net/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&amp;page=UserAction&amp;id=31>intense public pressure</a> that bubbled up from the grassroots and culminated in calls by leading politicians to end the price gouging. </p>
