8 Reasons Sarah Palin is More Qualified than Barack Obama

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Sarah Palin (sp?) has ignited the presidential race and fired up the GOP -- as evidenced by three women at the RNC who took the time to print the words "We," "Love," and "Sarah" on pieces of paper and tape them to the backs of their t-shirts. Sarah's even won the backing of the level-headed Rep. Michele Bachmann (R- MN) -- not exactly known for toeing the party line. Clearly, the liberal left realizes that it can't match this kind of unbridled enthusiasm for its candidate. So what are they doing? Attacking her character. Questioning her qualifications. Imagine a political group attacking an opponent because it can't win on the issues or the record. It's disgusting.

So let's set the record straight. Sarah Pahlen (sp?) is not only more qualified for the Oval Office than Barack Obama -- she might just be the most qualified political candidate in our nation's history:

1. Putting Country First - Her membership in the Alaska Independence Party proves that she's exactly the kind of leader America needs: the kind that will always put country first -- even if that country happens to be The Republic of Alaska. Obama claims he loves America -- but has he ever loved it enough to favor seceding from it? It's called tough love, Senator. Look into it.

2. Independence - Sarah hates indicted Senator Ted Stevens, but raised money for him. She hates the "bridge to nowhere," but supported it. She wants to shatter Hillary's glass ceiling, but wears t-shirts touting the size of her boobs. We're dealing with an innovative politician; one who refuses to be categorized. Obama may call himself the candidate of "change," but Sarah Pailen's (sp?) entire political life has been about saying one thing, and then doing another. Now that's "change we can believe in."

3. Family Values - This is someone who's not afraid to preach abstinence for your daughter, even though her own unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. This is someone who's not afraid to hop on a plane from Texas to Alaska while she's in premature labor. This is someone who's not afraid to hit the campaign trail with a 5-month-old special needs baby. That's what I call dedication to family. Obama, on the other hand? A Muslim.

4. Intellect - Yes, Sarah recently admitted that she didn't know exactly what it was the Vice President did. Yes, she wants creationism taught in public schools. Yes, she doesn't believe global warming is manmade. But I'd like to point out the fact that she wears glasses -- and that's not something dumb people generally do. Obama? No glasses.

5. Military Affairs - As Governor, Pollen (sp?) is authorized to deploy Alaska's National Guard in times of emergency. And while the Guard's Adjunct General admits that she plays no role in national defense, and isn't briefed on military exercises, the fact is -- she's been photographed holding a machine gun, while Obama has yet to wield so much as a .38 for the cameras. When it comes to keeping me safe, that's all I need to know.

6. Foreign Affairs - While Obama likes to take Middle East tours, meet with Europe's leaders, and brag about his running mate being the foreign policy voice of the Senate, he can't hold a candle to Palenn's (sp?) understanding of today's complex, dangerous world. Yes, Sarah admitted that she hadn't paid much attention to the war in Iraq, but she knew enough to rightly call it a "task from God." Yes, she's only left North America once in her life, but her experience as a local sportscaster gave her the ability to follow events as they unfold at lightning speed. And as Cindy McCain pointed out, while Barack Obama was sipping lattes in Cambridge Square, Sarah Pinkston (sp?) was staring down the barrel of Putin's Kalashnikov -- a one woman wall keeping America safe from invasion.

7. Restoring America's Image - Who better than a former beauty queen to add some new luster to America's battered image? Paylen (sp?) will take a proverbial can of Aqua Net to our nation's unruly hair, and apply liberal (no pun intended) amounts of blush to Lady Liberty's cheekbones. In a word, she'll dazzle the world with her charm and style. Even the most anti-Western extremists will melt when they see the People and Vanity Fair spreads of Sarah warming her fur-lined extremities over burning science textbooks. And how would Obama restore our leadership in the world? The question we should be asking is: why does he only have two children, while Sarah has at least twice that number? What does Senator Obama have against America's children?

8. Her Soul - In one 15-minute meeting, and one follow-up phone call, John McCain was able to determine that Sarah was more than his running mate -- she was his "soul mate." Not only that, but that she was more qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office than any Republican on earth. Yes, this is a testament to the power and quickness of McCain's decision making. But it's also a testament to the power of Sarah Payton's (sp?) soul. As a Muslim, it's not even clear that Obama has a soul.

So is Sarah Pillston (sp?) qualified to be Vice President? To be one bad biopsy away from being the most powerful human being on earth? To lead America back to prominence and prosperity, while keeping us safe from a world of ever-changing threats?

In her own words: "Yup...yup."

SP is governor of MY state. Much has been swept under the rug when it comes to her soldier son Track. Sarah hasn't been a hockey mom in quite sometime, as Track spent his senior year of high school in Michigan. This transfer took place after he and a number of friends vandalized the school bus fleet in Wasilla. That was the culmination of a night that also involved stealing liquor and getting stewed. After his return from exhile he was arrested for drugs. It's pretty common knowledge he avoided jail time by joining the Guards. So, his reasons for joining the army (as Sarah refers to it) were not exactly noble. It was the lesser of 2 evils.

There's also an interesting story as to why the snowmachine partnership between her husband and his best friend dissolved. SP is quite a gal.

A super Hoover will be needed to get rid of all of this dirt and a large rug tto put in under> It's no wonder that the Queen of Earmarks is being secluded from the press. Now it all makes sense.
McCain did one hell of a vetting job. Her family rearing results are about as good as the mess she created in Alaska where giving out the obscene oil money is all that it takes to gain " support."

Palin's background in family and goverrnment is an attrocity which the McSame folks want swept underr the big rug.

Where did the knuckle-dragging Left go before blogs?

First-term Senator Obama, who was nominated by a party that thought (and still believes) that 2-term Governor Bush was unqualified to be President and beat out former Democratic VP candidate, first-term senator John Edwards, thinks he is qualified to be Commander-in-Chief, chief executive officer of the most pivotal government on Earth, and leader of the free world, because he got people registered to vote in Chicago (didn't know it was such a big deal -- Mayor Daley got dead people to vote in 1960), runs a national campaign (what does the campaign manager do then, exactly?), and voted with the majority of the Senate to increase foreign aid.

Yet you scorn someone aspiring to be the Vice President because she has "only" been the mayor of a "small town," in which she ran a city budget and dealt with a town council, and is "just" a first-term governor of a state with a $10 billion budget, which sits closer than any other to a somewhat hostile former (and possibly future) enemy nation, and is critical in any discussion of energy production and needs, while she equipped, trained, and dispatched their National Guard -- more military experience than her two opponents combined.

And let's not forget, finally, the venal, self-appointed guardians of tolerance, compassion, and women's rights who suggest that she should stay at home with her family instead. You've come a long way, baby.

I've run a successful small business for about six years. Even in these trying times I remain profitable. Yet it would be foolish to believe that I could walk into General Motors and take on the task of vice president (in any department)! I would think that if it came down to it, the corporation's attorney would be a better choice to lead the company than I would, even though I've run a company and he hasn't. Kinda like a small town mayor turned governor vs. a senator.

Lets just put some things into perspective and proper context. Sitting in a state that is closer to russia than any other prepared her for NOTHING. That is one of the most idiotic statements I'd ever heard in my life. I've personally been to Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. I also speak fluent Spanish and Korean (in addition to english, of course). I have more foreign policy experience than she does and I've never met a single diplomat or official in any of those countries.

Palin did not equip, nor train, nor dispatch the national guard! That is, again, ridiculous! The national guard is equipped and trained by the department of the army at the various training facilities located on the various military bases around the country. They are only dispatced by the governor in case of a STATE emergency. In times of war or NATIONAL military operation, they fall under the exclusive command of the department of defense.

The Prize for the most ill-qualified vp candidate selection fiasco goes, hands-down , to John McSame. He, if ever elected or selected president, will out doo-
doo George Bush as a serious failure with equally matching consequenses.

WANT MORE PAIN ??????????VOTE McSAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a bit ridiculous for any dem to say that she should stay at home with her special needs baby, but the trick is to listen to what her opinions are on the issues. she has a strange platform that will do more destruction than No Child Left Behind. Not saying that higher education is the end all be all, but I am unfortunately the two time graduate of a Research 1, New Ivy League college so I see the value in graduating with a BA in the appropriate time, which is 4 years and not 6.

I don't want government deciding when I can be a parent. i don't want government teaching creationism in schools -- because of the obvious separation of church and state. Also, what is the clear plan to create new sources of energy and stop dependence on foreign oil besides displacing several herds of polar bears.

These people aren't right! This is a different kind of republican. At least I can say that republicans in the past like nixon and Ike had clear plans. These people have nothing. And who cares if she has military experience. The only power the president has exclusively is to send the army into war. There aren't many things that can be done without congress. And at least for the next 4 years, the congress is democrat.

Seth GRahame-Smith, you're someone who doesn't mind using sarcasm yourself, aren't you?! You must admit however that Sarah is not running for president but for the vice preident's slot. The lack of experience is on Obama's side if we are talking presidential candidates. But Sarah Palin does have something that the other three do not: executive experience. Pretty important, since decision making is the prime modus operandi of an American president. If she had better positions on the environment and wildlife I might vote for her myself since I clearly have no choice with Obama. We need someone who can be trusted, who is not afraid of plans and solutions and actually has some of his/her own. That isn't Obama.

Utterly. Exquisitely. Brilliant.

I only wish I'd written it myself.

Hilarious!!! Seth, I hope you don't consider yourself a serious reporter, unless you're writing for the Comedy Channel. This article has got to be the winner for "sarcasm at its best." Because if we're REALLY going to vote for McCain-Palin based on Palin touting the size of her boobs or the fact that she can carry a gun, I'm hosting an Obama-Biden party at my house, strictly on principle. To the people of the People of the United States: I don't care who you vote for, but don't base your decisions on rhetoric or popularity or "gut feel." Vote based on what's best for you and your families or even what's best ideologically for the world around you. But don't do it just because the candidate can bring together a crowd of 80,000+ (many lawyers are great speakers -- I can attest) or because the other has 20+ years of experience (you expect that much from someone who's 72, fer Crisakes).

Aren't the repugs banking on the fact that people choose based on "gut feel"? Isn't that why GWB is in office, because more people would want to have a beer with him than with John Kerry? The entire republican party should start an Olympic event for talking out of both sides of the mouth.

Have we already forgotten Geraldine Ferraro? Anyway, the Republicans have found their new Angelina Jolie and have made the predictable leap of anointing her a goddess. Unless she really fumbles, look for her on every Right Wing website and supermarket magazine from now until she starts to sag. I just hope that beehive doesn't become the next big thing - oy!

Had they been reasonable at the RNC they would have asked: who is this woman? Since most of them probably never heard of her before either. But when you consider they cheered whatever came out of the speaker's mouth whooping up a froth of passionate enthusiasm for Palin must have come easy. Since reason was nowhere to be found at the RNC.

One comment I'm still mulling over is the one Romney made on how liberals have dominated Washington for the past 8 years. What, was Bush too leftwing for him? That's not what he meant. Or is it?

Beehives returning? Careful, only elitists raise their snooty noses at beehives and supermarket tabloids.....

Tonight the BBC cut away from their convention to Dick Cheney in the Ukraine meeting with foreign delegations and speaking about Russia and Georgia...

The contrast was quite striking.

Thank you Sarah, never in my life was I actually APPRECIATIVE of Mr Cheney ... (i've just thrown up a bit in my mouth)

to imagine this woman in his shoes scares the living bejezus out of me...

By my account, Sara Palin was atleast a month pregnant when she and Tod eloped. Sara and Tod eloped August 29,1988 and Track Palin was born April 20, 1989. I dont have an issue with premarital sex or pregnancy out of wedlock. But, im not running around preaching morality and family values whilst being a hypocrite. Something about this woman is just not right and if i see one more photo of her toting that poor baby Trig around like the latest fashion accessory im going to scream. Using a child for publicity is disgusting. Special needs or not, all that attention has got to be overwhelming for such a young child. Protecting your children should come first not flaunting them around. Family Values and Morality my A@@!
i hope this wasnt too off topic.

Not only preaching morality and family values but that Iraq was a "task fhat is from God".

I don't trust someone who can't walk the walk. Teenage pregnancy is a problem in this country and we don't need more people flaunting it. Babies do not need to have babies.

The Repubs are nominating a woman for political reasons only . Nominating a woman is something they privately and publicly scoffed and laughed at "liberals" for doing decades ago, in fact up until just a month ago. It just so happens its one of the last tricks at the bottom of thier rotting barrell. As long as the Repubs keep bearing more neanderthals there will always be a sucker for this hucksterism. Let the Dumbing down of America continue without delay :Vote McCain/Palin '08.
