Shannon Schuyler has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for twelve years and is currently the Corporate Responsibility (CR) Leader and a member of the board for the firm's foundation. She oversees the actions, programs and initiatives for the firm's internal strategy around PwC's four CR pillars: Marketplace, Community, People, and Environment.

In this role, she interacts with firm leadership, locally, nationally and globally to identify and implement CR strategies, facilitates discussions with clients on their approach to CR, interacts with external vendors and national non-profit partners to foster meaningful relationships, and communicates about PwC's CR commitment and strategy.

Key accomplishments under Shannon's tenure include:

.Realigning PwC's service efforts to allow its 31,000 U.S. employees to take part in paid-time off to volunteer and give back to communities nationwide through firm-sponsored volunteerism. The firm also provides 10 hours of paid time off for staff to engage in discretionary volunteer opportunities
.Creating a national partnership with Be The Change Inc., a leading public policy and advocacy nonprofit that helped found and lead the ServiceNation campaign, aimed at inspiring a new era of voluntary citizen service
.Overseeing the firm's commitment to reduce its carbon footprint of the US operations' by 20% by 2012
.Partnering with the MIND Research Institute, an education non-profit dedicated to creating and facilitating cutting edge scientific research and programs to positively impact youth education, specifically around math proficiency and problem solving skills of K-12 students

Shannon is a sought after expert on CR, service, social innovation, and youth education. She has spoken at top conferences including the National Conference on Volunteer and Service (NCVS) alongside First Lady Michelle Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as The Atlantic Council of the United States' (ACUS) G-20 conference, The Conference Board, Net Impact's annual conference and The ServiceNation Summit. She has been quoted in numerous top-tier and key CR trade publications, including Fast Company, San Francisco Examiner, Idealist.org and Marketplace Radio. She has also served as an advisor to the national government on the role of business in enhancing a culture of service and fostering social innovation.

Prior to this role, Shannon led the firm's Alumni Relations efforts for two years and oversaw the PwC's 'Great Place to Work' efforts. Before joining PwC, Shannon was an executive recruiter with a focus on placing senior level actuaries in insurance and professional services organizations.
